DHI DISNEYLAND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION~Monorail Station

Walt in the late fall of 1958 with a Monorail model at the WED Model Shop. Harriet Burns tells a story
where WED and Walt brought in three teams of architects, designers, and structural engineers to take a
look at the 1959 expansion models and plans. There was concern about some of the designs and wanted to
verify that the planned loads could be handled. As it turned out, two of the three teams claimed that the
designs would not work. Walt went with the third and his own design team. The rest, as they say, is history!
