| Walt is describing something to someone. Here is one of the most creative men to have ever walked the earth … and he is describing something with great detail, trademarked raised eyebrow, and an expressive two-hand gesture. I just want to know what he is creating!! Photo is from June of 1962 and features Walt at the Tahitian Terrace restaurant (which opened in 1962). Those around him appear to be ad men type (as compared to “Hollywood type” as my fellow DHI historian told me). So as near as we can tell, Walt is trying to sell them on Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, which would open one year later in June of 1963. Still, that is just a guess. Nice to see Walt at work! |
Maybe Walt was describing how he suggested the solution to raising the height of the stage’s artificial tree!
I was thinking, what if these were Corporate figures, from United Airlines, or other interested sponsors, that Walt was trying to sell and pitch the idea to?
You are partially correct. I am still researching this, but I think they are representatives from Stouffers. More on this as I put the story together. Thanks for the comment.
ahh yes, Stouffers makes much more sense, as they were the original sponsors for the Tahitian Terrace…My confusion, as I was thinking about the ETR for some reason. Looking forward to hearing and learning more about it!
